Renewal Dates
Renewal occurs June 30 biennially, however all continuing education for that renewal cycle must be fulfilled by March 30.

A notice of renewal will be mailed by the department to the certification holder at least 30 days prior to the expiration date. Failure to receive a notice for renewal will not be considered as an excuse or good cause for failure to renew prior to the expiration.

Wisconsin Administrative Code, Chapter 5 Comm. 5.08

Special Designations or Stipulations:
A person may apply to renew his or her certification provided an application, certification fee and evidence of all renewal qualifications, if any, are submitted to the department prior to the expiration date.

A persona may apply to renew his or her certification within 6 months after expiration of the credential, provided an application fee accompanies the renewal application.

A person who holds a certification as a certified commercial building inspector may apply to the department for waiver of the continuing education requirements under subd. 1. on the grounds of prolonged illness or disability or similar circumstances. Each application for waiver will be considered individually on its merits by the department.
