Renewal Dates
All licenses expire on the last day of a month designated by the board. A license shall be valid for two years.
Statute:
The Vermont Statutes, Title 26: Professions and Occupations, Chapter 39: PLUMBERS AND PLUMBING
26 V.S.A. § 2195.
Special Designations or Stipulations:
Two (2) hours out of the required (8) hours of instruction must be instruction on the review of the l990 BOCA NATIONAL PLUMBING CODE.

Applicable Course of Study:
Subject matter shall deal with the adopted current plumbing codes or related information. This may include general or specific review of the code, code changes from preceding versions, common violations of the code, or other related areas that relate to the speciality plumbing installation.
Proof of Compliance:
In order to renew a license plumbers must submit evidence of 8 hours of approved training within the previous 24 months immediately preceding the date of renewal. A course certificate cannot be used for more than one renewal. A copy of the certificate is acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements for continuing education.
Non-Compliance Penalties:
If a licensee fails to renew his or her license prior to expiration, the licensee may reinstate the license within 90 days of its expiration by paying the reinstatement fee of $15.00 in addition to the renewal fee.
If the licensee fails to renew within 90 days of the expiration of the license, the licensee shall appear before the board to request reinstatement.
