Completion Requirements
Contractors must complete 10 hours of continuing education per renewal period.
Please Note: The Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board only accepts Classroom Hours as an acceptable means of meeting any continuing education for contractors.
Renewal Dates:
Renewal occurs annually according to last name during the following months:
A-F December 31
G-L March 31
M-R June 30
S-Z September 30

House Bill 402, Section 4740 of the Ohio Revised Code and Section 4101:16-3-06 (c) and (d)

Applicable Course of Study:
Plumbing contractors must complete their hours in each of the following 4 subject areas: technology, health and safety, business and code. The licensee can fulfill the 10 hour requirement by completing any combination of the 4 subject areas, however, they must complete at least one hour in each of the subjects.
Electrical contractors must complete: 2 1/2 hours of health and safety, 2 1/2 hours of technology, 5 hours of business and 20 hours on the current National Electrical Code.
