Renewal Dates
All licenses issued by the board shall expire on the last day of the month of the licensee's birth in the year 2 years following the year of issuance.

The secretary of the board shall notify every licensee of the date of the expiration of the license and the amount of the fee that shall be required for its renewal for 2 years. Such notice shall be mailed at least one month in advance of the date of expiration.

Special Designations or Stipulations
License holders need to obtain 32 hours of continuing education every two years. This figure is generated from the following equation:
New Hampshire requires 8 CEU.
1 CEU = 4 credit hours
Therefore, the requirement of 8 CEU = 32 credit hours.

Applicable Course of Study
Continuing education units shall be credited as follows:
(1) Verified membership and participation in a national, regional or state land surveyor society or association providing the licensee attends 50% of the meetings shall receive 1 CEU per year, with a maximum of 2 CEU's per biennium.
(2) Serving as an officer or committee chairman in a national, regional or state land society or association shall receive 0.5 CEU per year, with a maximum of 1 per biennium.
(3) Serving on a land surveying board shall receive 1.5 CEU's per year;
(4) Serving as an officer or chairman on a land surveying board shall receive 0.5 CEU's per year;
(5) Verified membership and participation in an additional national, regional or state land surveyor society or association with a minimum of 50% attendance at meetings shall receive 0.5 CEU's per year;
(6) Serving as an officer or committee chairman in an additional national, regional or state land surveyor society or association shall receive 0.5 CEU per year;
(7) Activity of special service to the profession, including but not limited to teaching and publication, shall receive a maximum of 6 CEU's per biennium; and
(8) Completion, with a passing grade where grades are awarded, of educational courses related to land surveying, including board or land surveyor society approved seminars, shall receive 1 CEU for each 4 hours of participation.

Proof of Compliance
As required by RSA 310-A: 68, each licensee shall provide evidence of continued education prior to receiving a license renewal.

The applicant for renewal shall list the CEUs earned on a form furnished by the board.

The form shall be submitted with the renewal application properly notarized, and shall include the following:
(1) The licensee name and license number;
(2) The list of CEU credits as specified in Lan 402.03 with applicable dates; and
(3) The applicant’s signature.

Non-Compliance Penalties
The failure on the part of any licensee to renew the license in the month of expiration as required above shall not deprive such person of the right of renewal, provided that the board shall charge a 20% reinstatement fee for each month or fraction of a month the renewal is late. If a licensee fails to renew such license within the 12 months after the date of expiration, it shall become null and void and the licensee shall be required to reapply and to be re-examined for licensure as required in this section.
