Title/Practice Act Summary
Continuing Education Requirements
The practice act established in 2003 authorizes the board to establish CE requirements, but CE has not
yet been implemented.
Exceptions and Exemptions
The law exempts architects, professional engineers, and land surveyors in the course of providing services for
which otherwise licensed. Landscape architecture does not include the practice of engineering and practice of
professional engineering as defined under state law.
- A nursery worker, gardener, landscape designer, or landscape contractor in
the course of preparing planting plans or installing plant material, to the
extent these activities do not impact the public health, safety and welfare
- An individual in the course of planning or otherwise caring for that
individual’s property.
- Preparation of plans, drawings and specifications for certain public buildings.
- Management of construction contracts by persons customarily engaged in
contracting work.
